Grand Gain, an industrial manufacturing enterprise in Vietnam, has successfully completed the installation of a 2,400 kWp rooftop solar power system at its factory. The project was undertaken by INS Energy, who was responsible for the entire process – from site survey and system design to installation and handover. This initiative is part of Grand Gain’s broader strategy to optimize operational costs and align with sustainable production standards in the global supply chain.

INS Energy Delivers the Project Within 5 Months Despite Multiple Challenges

From the outset, Grand Gain established clear milestones: complete the system design, construction, and commissioning for commercial operation within five months. Given the project’s high technical, quality, and timeline requirements, INS Energy was selected as the EPC contractor due to its extensive experience and proven capacity in the renewable energy sector.

On-Site Challenges and Local Legal Hurdles

The facility consists of six rooftops; however, the existing structures are relatively weak and unable to support a full-scale PV installation as in previous projects. Additionally, the capacitor cabinet system was deteriorated, and the connection stations were isolated from one another, complicating efforts to synchronize the entire electrical system. Moreover, local regulations regarding the issuance of construction permits (Building Permits) remained ambiguous, leading to confusion in finalizing the project’s legal procedures.

In response to these challenges, INS Energy conducted a thorough structural assessment of the rooftops, recalculated load capacities, and reconfigured the system layout to ensure safety. At the same time, the company updated the power factor compensation strategy, upgraded the capacitor cabinets, and proactively worked with local authorities to ensure all legal procedures for the project were properly completed.

INS Energy Designs and Executes with Effective Coordination

Despite facing delays in the permitting process that postponed the construction start date by 20 days, the overall project timeline remained well-managed thanks to a strategically organized construction plan. By reducing installation loads on weaker roof areas and deploying two cranes simultaneously, the installation process was optimized in terms of both time and safety. The active support from Grand Gain – particularly in site preparation and internal coordination – was also a critical factor that enabled INS Energy to deliver the project on time and to the expected quality standards.

Reports confirm that the entire system is operating reliably, achieving the expected performance levels, and has received positive feedback from Grand Gain following handover. The investor especially praised the professionalism, initiative, and flexibility of INS Energy’s technical team in handling challenges throughout the project. The success of this project was not solely a technical achievement – it was also the result of seamless collaboration between all parties involved.

With extensive experience in delivering rooftop solar projects ranging from 500 kWp to over 5 MWp across various provinces, INS Energy continues to solidify its position as a trusted EPC contractor, particularly for projects that demand flexible technical solutions and fast-track execution.
