In pursuit of a modern green campus model, Saigon International University (SIU) has recently commissioned a rooftop solar power system, implemented by INS Energy. More than just an energy-saving solution, the project exemplifies a flexible design approach – balancing functionality, aesthetics, and safety – tailored to the architectural characteristics of an urban educational environment. <\/span><\/p>\n

Project Overview: Medium Scale, Optimal Efficiency<\/b><\/h3>\n

The rooftop solar system at SIU has a total designed capacity of 28.32 kWp and is installed over an area of approximately 150 m\u00b2 on the building\u2019s rooftop. The project features 48 state-of-the-art photovoltaic (PV) panels, supplying clean electricity to support the university\u2019s teaching and operational activities. <\/span><\/p>\n

The entire project was executed and completed by INS Energy within seven days, ensuring rapid progress while strictly adhering to safety, quality, and technical standards.<\/span><\/p>\n

Technical Challenges and Optimized Solutions<\/b><\/h3>\n

During the implementation phase, INS Energy\u2019s engineering team proactively addressed specific technical requirements set by the investor, ensuring that the project harmonized with the building\u2019s overall architecture while maintaining operational efficiency and system safety.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

  • No structural anchoring to concrete floor or boundary walls: Per the investor\u2019s request, the PV mounting system was not allowed to be bolted directly into the rooftop slab or existing boundary walls. To resolve this, INS Energy designed a foundation system using concrete pedestals, which were connected to the PV mounting frame via steel box columns and anchor bolts – ensuring structural stability without compromising the original structure. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    • Frame height must not exceed the existing parapet wall: This requirement was intended to preserve the architectural integrity of the building. The design team utilized the specialized PVS software to precisely calculate the tilt angles and installation positions, thereby optimizing power generation efficiency while strictly adhering to the permissible height limitations. <\/span><\/li>\n
    • All wiring systems must be concealed: To maintain a clean and aesthetic appearance, all alternating current (AC) cables, grounding wires, and signal cables running from the rooftop to the electrical cabinet on the ground floor were required to be concealed. The adopted solution involved routing all cables through integrated technical ducts within the building, ensuring that the system operates in a tidy, safe, and visually appealing manner. <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
