However, despite strong potential and rising demand, the integration of renewable energy into industrial production still faces multiple barriers\u2014from regulatory frameworks and technical infrastructure to financial constraints. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Strong Demand, but Regulatory Frameworks Lag Behind<\/b><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vietnam is entering a pivotal phase of its energy transition, particularly as its commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 shifts from a long-term goal to an immediate requirement in global trade. Major markets such as the EU and the United States are tightening environmental standards, compelling manufacturers to adopt clean energy solutions. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, experts note that the greening of industrial parks has not yet been approached as a holistic challenge. Beyond the development of solar and wind power, it requires alignment between energy policies, industrial planning, and grid infrastructure. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Direct Power Purchase Agreement (DPPA) mechanism is expected to be a significant step forward. In practice, however, its implementation remains limited. Internal microgrid systems integrating solar PV, wind power, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) have been deployed, enabling stable electricity supply for hundreds of enterprises. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These systems are typically integrated with Energy Management Systems (EMS), allowing real-time monitoring, load optimization, and reduced reverse power flow to the national grid. As a result, businesses gain greater control over energy consumption, mitigate supply risks, and reduce exposure to electricity price volatility. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Despite this readiness, access to green power mechanisms remains limited. Minimum consumption thresholds for DPPA participation exclude a large portion of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), which represent the majority in industrial parks. This highlights the need for more flexible policies\u2014such as aggregated demand models or expanded eligibility criteria\u2014to fully leverage existing infrastructure.  <\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>BESS \u2013 A Critical but Challenging Component<\/b><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Within the green energy ecosystem, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) play a pivotal role in balancing supply and optimizing energy utilization. However, BESS deployment in Vietnam still faces significant challenges, primarily due to high capital expenditure and the lack of supportive financial mechanisms. The current model does not clearly separate capacity charges from energy charges, making it difficult for businesses to optimize financial planning. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Moreover, the lack of genuine buyer choice in power purchase agreements reduces the attractiveness of DPPA schemes. Instead of securing stable long-term pricing through direct negotiation, enterprises remain exposed to market fluctuations, increasing financial risks. <\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Toward an Integrated Solution for Green Energy Adoption<\/b><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To accelerate the penetration of green electricity in industrial parks, experts emphasize the need for a comprehensive and coordinated approach.
