Application and working principle
- Solar energy is absorbed directly through photovoltaic cells from solar panels, creating DC current.
- Through the grid-tied inverter (DC/AC inverter on the grid), the DC current is converted into AC, which has the same frequency and phase as the national grid so that it can connect to the grid.
- These grid-tied inverters are programed to automatically find the Maximum Power Point Tracker MPPT of the panels, in order to optimize the power received from solar systems.
- The synchronization of national grid power and solar power source will be conducted automatically, in which solar power is prioritized to supply the load.
In details:
 - When the solar power generated equals the load capacity, it will consume all the electricity of the solar power system.
 - When the load capacity is greater than the solar power generated (even at night, when the solar energy system does not generate electricity), the load will consume electricity from the grid.
 - When the load capacity is smaller than the solar power generated, the excess electricity will be sold to the grid through the electric meter and recorded by the 2-way meter for EVN.
 - The system only works during the day (almost 100% dependent on sunlight), so the system will hibernate at night and return to normal operation the next day when it is sunny.
 - The grid-tied inverter has the function of automatically disconnecting the power when there is a power outage from the grid, halting supply to the load to ensure technical safety when the power grid is being repaired.

The energy generated from solar will be recorded by the two-way meter. If the amount of solar power generated is greater than the electricity consumption of the home or business, the excess electricity will be offset from the electricity bill. The total surplus electricity for the whole year will be purchased by EVN at the price of 1,940 VND/ 1 kWh. (Expired from December 31, 2020)
