Application and Principle
- Working principle:
+ The system prioritizes using DC power from solar panels to convert to AC power to supply electricity-consuming equipment, and at the same time to charge the battery if the battery has not been fully charged.
+ If the solar system generates excess power, it will be connected to the grid to sell electricity to EVN. When the power from the solar panels and battery is short, the system will automatically draw more electricity from the grid to supply electrical equipment and charge the battery.
+ In case of a power outage or customers disconnecting the system from the grid intentionally, the Hybrid Solar Power System will use power from solar panels and backup power from batteries to supply equipment.
OPERATION MODE: There are three basic modes in the PV Master App that end users can use :
+ General mode: During the day, the energy generated by the PV system is used in the following order: supply loads; charge the battery; export excess electricity to the grid. At night, the battery powers the loads. If battery power is insufficient, the system is designed to automatically switch supply sources to the grid to keep the loads energized.
+ Backup mode: In this mode, the battery is only used as a backup power source when there is a power outage on the grid, and as long as the grid is available, the battery will not stop powering the load. The battery will be charged by electricity generated by the PV system or from the grid.
+ Economy Mode: Customers can set charging and discharging times according to the grid's peak and off-peak rates and electricity consumption patterns.
+ With INS' storage solution for residential and businesses, there are three main applications:
- Increased auto-consumption: the battery system stores excess energy generated from the PV array to put solar energy into the grid and limit solar energy production. When solar energy production is low, the battery will discharge to support the consumption load.
- Provide backup for critical loads: The battery stores solar or grid energy for needs during power outages. Loads such as refrigerators, routers, lights, computers, and other critical equipment can be powered up when the grid is off. The system can automatically switch to backup mode within 8 seconds.
- Time of Use (ToU): By setting the time and discharge level, the battery can be left unused by using the electricity generated at the lowest level and discharged to the electrical load during the peak time.
