The Off-grid solar system is a system that uses solar energy to generate electricity and stores it in a storage battery. This solar-generated energy powers appliances automatically without connecting to the grid power and the system requires an additional backup generator. In other words, the Off-grid solar power system is completely separated from the grid system.

With the completely independent working principle, the off-grid solar system is widely used in many regions around the world, specifically for areas without grid electricity, remote islands, or areas with unstable grid electricity. The off-grid solar system consists of solar panels, storage batteries, battery charge controllers, inverters and backup generators (optional).

Cons :

- Limited solar energy storage – Even with backup power, energy storage is still limited. After a few consecutive days of cloudy weather, you may run out of power reserve.
